Place 3 cups of roasted and salted peanuts into the food processor. Ensure that the blade is mostly covered for smooth blending.
Blend peanuts in 30-second intervals, stopping to wipe the edges with a spoon or spatula. Continue until a thick paste-like consistency is reached.
Add optional additional ingredients like honey and/or sugar. These ingredients can be varied to taste. Also add salt if you used unsalted peanuts.
Blend in 30-second intervals until you have reached the desired consistency. Store in an air-tight jar with a lid at room temperature for 2 weeks or around 6 months in your refrigerator. Three cups of peanuts make about 1 pint of homemade peanut butter.
Notes
You can make this recipe to your desired flavor profile as well as your desired consistency. Feel free to leave out the honey and sugar.
