The best part of all is that these crackers are rather addictive (which could also be a bag thing, lol). In fact, when my husband tried to take the container home from his holiday work party this year, someone stopped him and poured the remaining crackers into a ziplock bag so they could take them home!

So next time you are in need of a savory yet simple appetizer or party item, give these no-bake ranch seasoned crackers a try!

How To Make Savory No-Bake Ranch Seasoned Crackers

*Scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the full recipe, including exact measurements and amounts. You can also print out the instructions. I go into a bit more detail about the recipe here first, just in case you need it.

This recipe is so simple that it doesn’t really need written-out directions. However, just in case you want to hear the step-by-step information, here we go!

This isn’t the healthiest appetizer in the world due to the use of oil, but that’s what recipes like this are for. They aren’t meant for everyday eating but are great for a fun treat! Along with last-minute holiday work parties, we also like to take these to any family gathering or get-together.

A few simple pantry staples can be turned into a delicious snack!

Another one of our favorite recipes to bring to family gatherings and potlucks is my 7-layer salad. It’s another easy recipe that is usually a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

  • Ritz Crackers – Our favorite type is the whole wheat crackers, but any will work. You can also use oyster crackers but they won’t give you quite the same buttery flavor.
  • Oil – We use vegetable oil but you can use any type of oil you prefer. Just keep in mind that the flavor might change somewhat depending on what oil you use.
  • Ranch Dressing Seasoning Mix – If you want, you can make this homemade but we just use the Hidden Valley mix. You can get it in individual packets or in a large container. (Product Link: Hidden Valley Ranch Mix)
  • Dill Weed – Dried dill weed works best, but I’m sure fresh dill would taste amazing in this as well.
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Celery Salt
Oil in a measuring cup with seasonings in a small bowl.
Using a 1-cup measuring cup would allow you to skip the small bowl and have all of the ingredients in one container. Fewer dishes mean less work involved!

Instructions – Ranch Seasoned Crackers

Start by gathering up a few simple supplies. You are going to need a gallon-sized ziplock bag, a 1-cup liquid measuring container, measuring spoons, and something to stir or mix the seasoning with. To store the crackers, any air-tight container works well.

Carefully dump four sleeves of Ritz crackers into the ziplock bag. You want to avoid having a lot of crumbs since you want as many whole crackers as possible. Set them aside.

Add the oil to the liquid measuring cup. Choose one that can hold at least one cup of liquid. This way, all your seasoning ingredients can be mixed in the same containers (And who doesn’t like fewer dishes! I unfortunately didn’t do that when I took the photos for this article.)

Next, add all of the dry seasoning ingredients into the same liquid measuring cup. This is just the recipe and combination that we prefer. Mix the seasonings into the oil until well combined. As with most recipes, you can adjust these to your own taste and preferences.

Crackers in a ziplock bag with the ranch seasoning poured into it.
Pour the mixture into the bag, seal it, and slowly move the bag back and forth to coat the crackers in the seasoning.

Slowly, pour the seasoning mixture into the ziplock bag and seal it up tight. Now here comes the fun part. Carefully start turning the bag upside down and from side to side. As long as you move the bag slowly and gently, all of the crackers should become coated in the seasoning mixture. The goal is to not break any of the crackers. It might take a few minutes, so just be patient and go slow.

Now, all you have to do is pour the mixture into a container of your choice. Seal with a lid and your savory no bake ranch seasoned crackers are ready! The crackers should stay good in an airtight container for a few days – if they last that long!

Until next time, thanks for stopping by!
