Welcome to part 3 of my 2025 holiday gift guide, where I focus on gardening and preserving food from your harvest. If that special someone in your life is an avid gardener or likes to store away homegrown food, then this is the list you need. (Many of the items make for great stocking stuffers!)

Each December, I like to put out a holiday gift guide for those who enjoy gardening, raising chickens, preserving food, cooking and baking, and those who just like to live a semi homestead life. Since I have so many products that I want to recommend (and because I tend to ramble a bit too much!), I am breaking my list into three parts.
After you’ve gardened and preserved food for so long, you tend to get a preference for certain products. Some of these products are to make my job easier, while others are just plain workhorses.
These are all products that I personally use and love. (It annoys me when someone puts out a gift guide only to get links and views!) These are all items that I stand by and recommend to my closest friends or family members.
I have attached links to all the products if you want to see the item directly. Most of them are all found on Amazon, but you can also check local farm and garden center stores. This list has eight items on it and includes a variety of price points. I hope you can get some inspiration from the list (or treat yourself to a thing or two)!
Gardening & Preserving Food: Part 3 Of My 2025 Holiday Gift Guide
1. Micro-Tip Pruning Shears
I want to start this gift guide off with one of my favorite gardening products. It’s also one of the smallest. It’s my Microtip Pruning Shears. Just like I am obsessed with my Fiskars crafting scissors, I stand behind their pruners as well. (Product Link: Fiskars Micro-Tip Rose Pruning Shears)

I use these gardening snips or pruners all the time when I am out in the garden. Can they tackle cutting a thick zucchini stem? No, but they are ideal for all those small pruning projects you need to do as you walk throughout the garden on a daily basis.
I use them for cutting off faded flower blooms, for pruning tomato suckers and straggler stems, and for harvesting almost everything. I’ve had the same pair for years, and they work just like new.
2. Garden Ties – 2025 Holiday Gift Guide Part 3
The next item on my list is garden ties. I know they might not be the most exciting gift, but they make a perfect stocking stuffer. (Product Link: Soft Garden Plant Ties for Indoor & Outdoor Plants)

I like these garden ties because they are flexible, easy to work with, and blend in with the green foliage. I use them to tie up my tomato plants, cucumbers, and basically anything that climbs and vines.
The soft fabric won’t hurt the plant’s stems, and since it is flexible, it can stretch as the plants grow. It comes in a large roll and can be cut to the desired length.
3. Photo Organizer
A photo organizer might not be what you expect to see on a gardening gift list, but it is a product that I highly recommend. However, I don’t use it to store photos.

What do you typically do with all the leftover seeds in your packets after planting your garden or starting your seeds each spring? What about any of the seeds you save from the previous gardening season? That’s where the photo organizer comes into play.
It features multiple 4×6 photo containers that you store in one large box. Seed packets fit perfectly in these photo containers and can be organized however you need. Then, the individual containers go into the large box for simple and protected storage. (Product Link: Novelinks Clear 4″ x 6″ Photo Organizer with Handle)
4. Potting Mat – 2025 Holiday Gift Guide Part 3
If your special someone works with potting soil at all, then a potting mat is the perfect item. It is waterproof and helps to contain their mess. (Not that they are messy, but I certainly am when I am repotting plants or adding soil to starting seed containers.)

This mat comes in extremely handy during the late winter months when I am starting my seeds. Instead of worrying about the mess I am making, I can make sure my table and floors stay clean. I also use it when I am repotting or transplanting my indoor houseplants.
When I am all done, I can easily brush off the soil or dump any excess back into the soil bag. If it is extra dirty, I can just give it a good wash. It also stores away easily without taking up too much space. (Product Link: Extra Large Waterproof Potting Mat)
5. Pressure Canner
Now, this next item on Part 3 of my Holiday Gift Guide is a bit of a splurge. However, if your special someone likes preserving a lot of their garden produce, then a pressure canner is a great gift!

While highly acidic products can be processed using a water bath canner, a pressure canner is required for low-acid foods like green beans or corn. However, pressure canning can be a bit intimidating, especially if you’ve never done it before.
This electric pressure canner walks you through the entire process step by step. It takes a lot of the intimidation out of the process and makes it easier for whoever is doing the canning. (Product Link: Presto 12-Quart Digital Pressure Canner)
6. Hanging Mesh Bags
It can be a bit difficult to find ways of storing your fresh garden produce. If stored correctly, some of the produce can last for several months or longer.

I like to use these hanging mesh bags to store garlic, onions, and potatoes. They are breathable and help to keep the produce fresh for as long as possible.
You can use them for other ways around your kitchen. The best part is that they replace disposable bags and can be used over and over again. (Product Link: Hanging Mesh Bags)
7. Nut Gatherer – 2025 Holiday Gift Guide Part 3
If you have nut trees growing on your property, then one of these rollers can come in super handy! While acorns and other small nuts aren’t that big of a deal, black walnuts can be a big issue for your mower, let alone for walking!

Instead of bending over and picking up each individual walnut off the ground, these rollers can be put to work instead. They save you time while also helping to save your back and hips. There are other sizes that you can purchase for harvesting smaller nuts as well. (Product Link: Garden Weasel Large Nut Gatherer Roller)
We actually have two of these nut gatherers, one for each kid. Once upon a time, the kids used to fight over who got to use it to pick up the walnuts. Instead of having them spend time bickering, we bought another one for twice the work! (Unfortunately, now that they are teenagers, the fun has worn off, but they know it’s still better than picking them up by hand!)
8. Dehydrator
Last but not least is another spurge item, and that is my dehydrator. If your special someone wants to get into preserving all different types of foods, then a dehydrator is a great option.

The particular one I have doesn’t take up a lot of space but still has enough room for six large-sized trays. That means I can dehydrate a good amount of food at the same time. (Product Link: COSORI Food Dehydrator)
I use my dehydrator for all sorts of goodies like beef jerky, banana chips, apple slices, zucchini chips, pumpkin seeds, mullein, mushrooms for homemade cream of mushroom soup, herbs and spices, and so much more. I like how I can simply set it and forget it – my kind of product!
